Evaluate the current situation and select a category below.
I’ve found a…
Snake
DO NOT try to catch the snake yourself. Keep an eye on it at all times or for as long as possible (or get someone to help keep an eye on it while you run for your phone!). Take a picture of the snake (if possible) and send it to us via WhatsApp. Then CALL US to report the snake. Chances are we have qualified snake catchers in your area that can assist you with removing the snake if it does pose a threat.

Tortoise In My Garden (Not Injured)
Keep an eye on the tortoise – you’d be surprised how quickly they can disappear in a garden. Take a photo and send it to us via WhatsApp. Then CALL US to find out what is the best plan of action for the tortoise.

Injured Tortoise
Carefully remove the tortoise from the area if it is in any danger (such as in the middle of the road or about to be eaten again by the dog). Take a photo of the injuries and send it to us via WhatsApp. Then CALL US for advice on what to do next or where to take it to. If it is small enough, place it in a secure, but breathable box/basket/container, but DO NOT put a dish of water in, as they will merely bulldoze through the water and make a mess.

Tortoise In My Pool
Scoop out the tortoise as quickly as possible, tilt it upside down (so the head is facing the ground) to allow for some of the water in his mouth and lungs to run out. DO NOT shake the tortoise to make the water run out faster. If the tortoise is small enough, then place it on a dry towel in a secure, but breathable box/basket/container and provide heat. DO NOT put a dish of water in, as they will merely bulldoze through the water and make a mess.
Take a photo of the tortoise and send it to us via WhatsApp. Then CALL US for advice on what to do next or where to take it to.

Tortoise On The Side Of The Road
If it is a quiet road, then just monitor the tortoise to make sure it gets to the other side of the road safely. If it is a busy road, then gently assist the tortoise to the other side of the road in the direction it was heading. DO NOT take it back to the direction it came from, as it will simply turn around and head back the other way. DO NOT pick the tortoise up and remove it from the area that you have found it in, unless it is injured and needs assistance. If the tortoise is injured, or extremely small (smaller than the size of your palm) then take a photo of the tortoise and send it to us via WhatsApp. Then CALL US to help you find the closest person/place that can assist.
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE TORTOISE FROM THE PROVINCE THAT YOU’VE FOUND IT IN

Terrapin (Water Turtle)
If the terrapin is injured, then gently place it in a secure, but breathable box/basket/container, take a picture of it and send it to us on WhatsApp. Then CALL US to help you find the closest person/place that can assist.
If you find a terrapin crossing the road and it is a quiet road, then just monitor the terrapin to make sure it gets to the other side of the road safely. If it is a busy road, then gently assist the terrapin to the other side of the road in the direction it was heading. DO NOT take it back to the direction it came from, as it will simply turn around and head back the other way.
DO NOT pick the terrapin up and remove it from the area that you have found it in, unless it is injured and needs assistance. You can still take a picture and send it to us on WhatsApp and then CALL US to discuss the situation and determine if any intervention is necessary, or not.
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE TERRAPIN FROM THE PROVINCE THAT YOU’VE FOUND IT IN

Chameleon In My Garden
If you have found the chameleon in your garden, and you have any electric fences, then please switch off the power to the fence immediately. Electrocutions are the number one cause of deaths for chameleons found in urban gardens. DO NOT pick it up, unless it is in danger! Take a pic and send it to us via WhatsApp to determine the species and we’ll advise you on what to do next.

Rock Or Water Monitor (Huge Lizard) In My Garden.
DO NOT try to catch it! Have someone keep an eye on it at all times, take a picture and send it to us on WhatsApp. Then CALL US for advice on what to do further or whom to contact to safely remove the lizard from the area. Monitor Lizards can easily scale walls or climb trees and are very fast, so keep an eye on it at all times and keep all pets and children far away.
